Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”

We only have one life to live
Go for it now, the future is promised to no one. Kanye west rapped on his song with maroon 5, “Nothing’s ever promised tomorrow today But we’ll a find a way And nothing last forever but be honest babe… It hurts but it may be the only way”.
I crashed my Mercedes on the 1st of January 2016. There were no injuries but it was clearly a near death experience and this was like a real awakening for me. What if i had died will i be here to write this post? Will i leave behind any Legacy? Will all the hustle and bustle of life mean anything? Will i be going to a 9-5 Job in Heaven? Will i goto Heaven or Hell? What if there is no Heaven or Hell and dying means to start all over again from scratch? We have only one life to live and the only thing that really matters are the memories and how much we have “lived”. The quality of a good life is not how long it lived but on the memories that it can savor and remember .

Why i Quit my “Very Secure” Government Job
When i graduated from University of Calabar, Zoology and Environmental Biology (2:2), i did what every body usually did – I got a respectable Job in the Government.
I was the webmaster for Voice of Nigeria. I connected with all the Editors and reporters, solved their problems, ensured the website ran at optimum, fixed all faulty bugs and broken down devices. It was an awesome job but i am Oliver Twist.
My whole life has always been fast paced and competitive, In my first year at the University of Calabar, i had the highest CGPA in the faculty of Science. I streamed the 2015 Presidential debate Live. I wanted to be like Bruce Wayne so i bought a Camry Muscle bat Mobile (allow me brag a little). All these actions are deep desires to excel in any endeavor. But regardless of this realization about myself, i still settled for working in a job and the addiction that comes with receiving a salary.
I started to self search and question my very existence, am i fulfilling my dream? Are my capabilities and Passions being used creatively, Can i make enough money to maintain my fancy life?, do i really have to climb up a corporate ladder for 35 years in order to retire with PENSIONS? How valuable will my pension be with the rate of inflation. All this led to the idea of developing a solution that can affect the lives of millions , and also make billions of Naira/dollars.
The Birth of MeterNG
I was in bed trying to get some rest then my electricity ran out. My prepaid meter showed zero units , meaning i had to go buy a recharge token. All the offices had closed and it occurred to me …why can’t i buy electricity online.
1st of July www.meter.ng was born and i started the company out of nothing with my partner Pureheart Agabaenwere. It was hell sourcing finances from family and friends, the experience only made me stronger.
One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular

Everything did not seem right that morning. I woke up on Monday 19th December with my stomach aching. I was going to quit send in my resignation letter today but i was extremely afraid.
I had felt this way before, two years ago. It was not the first time that i had tried to quit my job. The first time i left Abuja , travelled to Lagos and locked myself in a house for a whole month.
I could feel it that there was something missing, there was a void somewhere that needed to be filled. My job was great , it gave me all the time in the world yet an innate hunger kept nudging me that i needed a drastic change ..i deserved more. The thrill of making meterNG a reality had become an obsession, i was overtaken by the obsession to create. I submitted the Resignation letter and it was done.

How to Survive With No Job
I improved my web-designs skills , studied endlessly and started improving my self 1% everyday. It will not be easy launching out in the unknown with nothing but a zoology degree and an electricity company. There are over 6 million prepaid meters in Nigeria and meterNG’s mission is to provide convenience to every home that has an electricity meter.
I did not quit because i was a 100 percent certain i was going to make it, i was in huge amounts of debts and i only had a conviction and a gut feeling that i will not sit back and relax till i made huge contribution to the future.

I feel free now, i am living my dreams now, i wake up everyday with a renewed zeal about life that i can take on anything that is thrown at me. There is a stirring in my soul and for the first time in a long while i feel i am on the right track to the destiny/destination that i desire.
Dreams can come true to only those who believe.
This is my first blog post , i wish everyone a happy New year, don’t be afraid to take that leap and follow through with consistency in every endeavor you venture in.
Everything that you need to be happy and fulfilled is within you, It is not within the external, material world. It is in honoring yourself, your passion and Your joy.
And, because I feel the abundance in my celebration of a simple, valuable life, I am beginning to attract financial abundance too. It’s starting to happen for me and it is growing daily.
Each day I keep following my passion and I keep trusting. I am a walking, talking proof that following your joy is not a faraway dream.
If it is happening for me, then it can happen for you. It is there, just waiting, for you to take charge
Have you ever tried to quit your job? Was it a tough choice? What do you need to let go in order to start living your dream life?
